The Tricks and Treats of Making a DIY Halloween Costume
There are many willing to argue that Halloween is the best holiday and that the annual night of costume revelry is better when you make your outfit yourself. But with Halloween so close, do you still have time to come up with an idea for a costume and put it together? Of course! Join us on October 17th at 4pm EST/1pm PDT, and our panel of DIY costume experts will share their ideas and they’ll discuss the do’s and don’ts of making it happen in a short time frame.

Kamui, otherwise known as Svetlana Quindt, is a talented cosplayer from Germany known for her impressive armour projects and extensive work with materials such as Worbla, Wonderflex and expanding foam. She generously shares her work and progress on her website and her Facebook page, with detailed tutorials of her methods.
Kathryn Jenkins is a do-it-yourself'er and holiday decorating enthusiast. Her site, The House of Paint (formerly The Dragons Fairy Tail), has been going since 2011 and is centered around simple, and creative projects that center around families. She is also the mom of two very active and wild little boys, a photographer, and swim coach. She shares tips for decorating under a budget, party and holiday inspiration, creative gifts made easy, and kid proof home design.
Jo Ann Deardn’s passion for sewing is over 45 years strong. She started sewing as a young girl making Barbie doll clothes then graduated to creating her own wardrobe and sewing Halloween costumes for her two children, as well as making her daughter’s holiday outfits. Her passion for sewing led her to create two successful businesses, Sew With Jo and Diva’s & Dude’s Custom Dog coats.
