Omaha Steaks

The holidays are here and this year spend more time with your guests and less time in the kitchen. Get your meal delivered right to your door! Omaha Steaks is offering The Premier Turkey & Ham Holiday for 8 where you get a Whole Basted Turkey and Spiral Sliced Ham, choose sides like this sage dressing or green beans and finish off the meal with dessert like this award-winning pumpkin pie. You can choose a variety of items for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, so you’re set for parties throughout the entire season.  And as America’s Original Butcher, Omaha Steaks, is a fifth-generation, family owned company that has been providing the finest in premium, All-American grain-fed beef and gourmet foods for over 100 years. It’s easy to order just go to, call or visit one of their 60+ retail stores across the country.

I like to start serving a few appetizers while my guests are waiting for the big meal. I have here three recipes made with delicious ooey gooey Jarlsberg Cheese known for its nutty, mild, mellow and sweet flavor made from the original Norwegian recipe for over 60 years. Fruit and cheese blend so nicely together. I made these Apple Bacon Turnovers with a mix of granny smith apples, bacon, applesauce and Jarlsberg cheese tucked into a puff pastry. Or these Pear Walnut Crostini made with a piece of toasted French baguette, slices of pear, cheese, and walnuts with a touch of rosemary and honey. Or create a simple winter cheese board with fresh figs, fresh pomegranate, dark chocolate, and candied pecans which pair beautifully with this cheese and your favorite red wine.  Head to to get the recipes.

The holidays aren’t complete without my homemade cranberry relish. You only need 4 simple ingredients – whole cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, and a little raw honey.  It cooks in 15 – 20 minutes. I like that you really get a depth of flavor without having to add a ton of sugar to the recipe. And you can make it up to a week ahead of time so you can save time on the big day, it’s all ready to go!
