Easter Spending Will Reach $17.3 Billion!

|The National Retail Federation’s (NRF) annual Easter Spending Survey, conducted by Prosper Insights and Analytics, determined spending for the holiday is expected to reach a 13-year survey high of $17.3 billion. The survey was conducted March 1 to 8 and about 7,264 consumers participated.
An average of $146 is expected to be spent per person. The survey determined consumers will spend $5.5 billion on food, $3 billion on clothes, $2.7 billion on gifts, $2.4 billion on candy, and $1.2 billion on flowers. Consumers shop in multiple ways: 58.4 percent plan on shopping at discount stores, 41.4 percent will shop at department stores, 24.7 percent will shop at local businesses, 21.4 percent will shop online, and 14.9 percent will make purchases from their phones.
