Ghostbusters Trailer is Here
It's here! The trailer for the (new) Ghostbusters movie has finally arrived! Check it out below. However, there are mixed reviews. No one really likes it when big studios remake a cult classic, I still refuse to watch the 2012 remake of Red Dawn. No one can replace Patrick Swayze! However, it's here. Is it a reboot? Is it a spinoff? No one seems to know. We do know that the four fighting Ghostbusters are now women, funny women, and some people have a problem with that. Twitter is abuzz with the hashtag #Ghostbusters and there are some horrible things said about this new movie, mainly the cast. It's pretty sad to see such sexist and racist feedback about a 2 minute trailer in today's age, but I'm not surprised. I will definitely see this movie because I loved the original Ghostbusters and I am also a fan of the women in this film.
So who are the new Ghostbusters?
Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig): Funny actress we all know and love. Most famous for her stint on Saturday Night Live (2005-2012). She has been making cameos in TV shows and movies since 2003. Although she has been appearing in movies for years, her breakout role was as Annie Walker in the hilarious film, Bridesmaids.
Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones): Standup comedienne since the 1980's and is currently a cast member on Saturday Night Live. Fun Fact: She is the oldest person to become a cast member on SNL, she's 47.
Jillian Holtzman (Kate McKinnon): I cannot look at Kate McKinnon and NOT see Justin Bieber. She does a hilarious impersonation of Justin on SNL. Kate has been a cast member on SNL for the past few years and is already a fan favorite. She has also appeared in a few movies & other TV shows but Ghostbusters is probably her biggest role yet!
Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy): Funny lady who has also made many appearances on various movies and TV shows ... but her big breakthrough happened in 2010 when she starred in the hit TV Show Mike & Molly. Then in 2011 Melissa made a hilarious splash in the movie Bridesmaids. Since then her life and career has blown up! Fun fact: Melissa McCarthy is the cousin of Jenny McCarthy.
