CEDIA 2018 Recap

We just wrapped up our CEDIA Expo experience and are excited to share some of our favorite finds! There are too many awesome innovations to mention, but we were left in awe of how far along technology has come.

The calm before the technological storm, if you will. The day before CEDIA 2018 kicks off and we're already hunting!

LG Signature OLED TV W was showcased and we were instantly drawn to it. You may see the term OLED a lot these days but what does it stand for? OLED - organic light-emitting diodes ... they basically allow TVs to be thinner and weigh less. Fun fact: LG is the #1 OLED in the world!

The LG Sr. Director Product Marketing, Tim Allesi, is showcasing the LG OLED with ThinQ which allows you to talk to your TV. Simply control your compatible (the LG TV, for example) smart home devices using your voice! Never get off the sofa again!

RING: Create a ring of security around your home. Literally! The popular Ring devices are evolving home security, and we love it. Check out their Ring Floodlight Cam: it detects human movement outside, has built-in flood lights, siren alarm, and two-way audio. Plus, it records 10 second bursts of video. Relax indoors watching your huge LG TV knowing your home is being protected by Ring.

Kohler Konnect: It's like being in a shower in a rainforest with music. Kohler's DTV+ Shower System transforms your showering routine into a voice-controlled, multisensory system with steam, lights, and music. It has front and rear speakers, and a wall control to personalize your settings. You might not want to leave the shower ... if only there was a way to put that huge LG OLED TV into the shower.

Control4 had a huge party with live music, food trucks, drink stations and more! Most people walked, took an Uber to this event ... but of course someone HAD to show up in their yacht.

Overall CEDIA 2018 Expo did not disappoint, not that we expected them to! We're looking forward to next year's expo where everyone will flock to it in planes, trains, cars, and Birds. Why walk when you can Bird?!
