The Bachelorette: Episode Six

In this episode Jojo and her men frolic the streets of Buenos Aires, Argentina. There’s soccer, the tango, untouched dinner plates during the dates, kissing, and heartbreak … which leads to the infamous limo crying. Did anyone else hear Jojo tell Jordan after accidentally bumping into him on the soccer field, "Ow! Your abs are so hard!" My eyeballs were on the floor after that one, suckers rolled right out.
This episode starts off with Wells’ awkward “Besame” date. He is the only man of the remaining eight rose hopefuls who has yet to kiss Jojo. Now’s his chance! The date went very well, or so you’d think. After making out suspended in the air during a very sexy water date, Jojo decided that he’s not the one after all and sent him packing. We had a very short exit scene with Wells, not even a goodbye interview! I guess the producers couldn’t get him to cry in the backseat of that limo. The next reject, Derek, had quite the sob fest. Spoiler alert, Derek gets sent home too but that’s a little later on.
On to the group date! The men on the group date with Jojo might as well be making an ad for Calvin Klein, they're all so pretty … all of them except for James Taylor, the singer-songwriter. James complained about how he doesn’t fit in with these group of men because they’re all so ridiculously good looking, and he's so, well, not.
Even though #BadChad is gone, the show continues to bring the drama! It's what we look forward to, am I right? James Taylor, the singer-songwriter and Jordan Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers brother were this episode's leading ladies. Apparently there was some beef between them at the house and James decided to use his one on one time during the group date to fill Jojo in. As we all know, this doesn’t ever bode well for the messenger. As is Bachelorette protocol, Jojo ran to Jordan to ask him about it. She MUST know if he acted entitled and snobby because that's "not the Jordan" she knows. Does she actually think anyone would throw themselves under the bus and say, "Yeah, actually I AM pretty snobby and entitled because I'm effing Aaron Rodgers brother"! Yeah, no. Jordan explained his side, Jojo fell more in love, and now there’s even MORE beef between James and Jordan. Awkwardness ensued when Jordan joined the group of men after getting an earful from Jojo. Jordan is pissed. There was an exchange of words between Jordan and James while Robby and Alex watcehd in silence. The Group Date Rose went to Luke, Mr. Passion himself.
The Messenger’s Curse
James Taylor learned the hard way that "Bachelorette protocol" usually backfires. Reporting Jordan’s "entitled" behavior only drove Jojo closer to him, proving that being the house snitch rarely leads to a rose.
The second 2-on-1 date of the season had Chase and Derek dancing for Jojo's rose. They "tangoed", dined, and kissed (not all at once) but in the end Derek was sent home dumbfounded, “I thought this was my time to be happy, but it’s not. Why am I crying?” Cue the song “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” in the background while Derek sobbed in the limo, driving away from his chance at Jojo’s heart. The John Krasinski look-alike is out. Two down, six to go!
The 2-on-1 Survival Guide
To survive a 2-on-1 date like Chase did, focus on the "sparks" rather than the drama. While Derek was left wondering "Why am I crying?" in the limo, Chase secured his spot by staying out of the emotional fray.
At the rose ceremony Jojo handed out roses to all but Alex and James. Holding that last rose, she ran outside to let Chris Harrison know that she couldn’t give it out. We’re all left wondering WTF. I was rooting for James since he’s kinda like the underdog, being normal-looking and all. The guys were standing inside still waiting for that last rose distribution when all of a sudden Chris Harrison appears with not one, but TWO roses. Jojo couldn’t send anyone home and James is safe for another week. Go James! Sorta, he seemed to have stirred the pot in this episode and I’m not a fan of that ... although it does make for good TV. The other guys all seem so douchey (is that a word?) so it’s hard to pick a fave. I guess I like Luke for her because he seems most genuine, but he's so boring. Ok, let's see who's left...
Jordan – the brother of Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Jojo seem like they’re already in a long-term relationship. They started with the puppy love, then a budding romance, then came the arguing and now they seem to be back on the path of engagement. Sorta. Recent news articles will have you thinking otherwise.
Luke – the war veteran from Texas and Jojo have a steamy passionate relationship forming … so far. I honestly can't take their make-out sessions anymore, turn the mics off!
Robby – the former competitive swimmer who reminds me of the actor, Will Forte has a pretty fun relationship with Jojo but it doesn’t seem as advanced as Jordan and Luke but he’s definitely 3rd in line.
Alex – the short ex-marine seems to be in love with Jojo but the feelings don’t seem to be mutual. Sure Jojo kisses him as she does all the other guys but it feels as if it’s just because he’s still in the “game”.
Chase – I keep forgetting this guy is around. He survived the recent (and dreaded) 2-on-1- date where Jojo picked him over Derek but again, the sparks don’t seem to be there. I can see him or Alex being kicked off next.
James – the singer-songwriter from Texas, also known for his regular-guy looks and dadbod is probably in last place or tied for last place with Chase or Alex. Sure he’s got the personality but he doesn’t have the Disney Prince Charming looks that Jojo seems to admire in the other men.
