Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between the Daily and the Lounge?

Daily Lounge is broken into two parts, The Daily and The Lounge.

The Daily connects you to content (web articles and posts) that we’ve written for you to read, comment on, and share with others.

The Lounge is where you can take a more active role in things by engaging with our editorial staff, interacting with other users, and even starting your own conversation about pretty much anything you want.

Both titles prominently displayed at the top of the page, which you can click as shortcuts to either sections whenever you want. You can recognize the section you’re in by whichever of the two is currently underlined.

Why don’t you guys write a post about [insert subject]?

Why don't YOU write a post about [insert subject]? The great thing about Daily Lounge is that the Lounge section is specifically meant for our audience to have a more active role in creating content. All you need to do is log in, which you can do via Facebook or with a unique Daily Lounge account (which you can create by going here). Then click "Start a Discussion" in the Lounge. You can talk about whatever you want!

AND if you see a post in the Daily that you want to use as a jumping off point for a separate discussion (you know, for when it's kind of more than a comment), you can do so by clicking "Start a Related Discussion" at the bottom of the post.

What's a roundtable?

A roundtable is a live online discussion, where we bring together a panel of experts on a specific topic to talk to our editorial staff and answers users’ questions. We regularly host roundtables and you can watch replays (as well as find listings for one or two upcoming roundtables) in the Roundtables section, which is part of the Lounge. We’ve done everything from debating the pros and cons of home schooling to discussing how to make your own Halloween costume.

How do I submit questions to a roundtable's panel?

You can submit questions to roundtables in the CoverItLive chat box as they happen. If you want to submit a question ahead of time, you can post it in that particular roundtable's comments section OR tweet it to us (preferably with the roundtable's corresponding hashtag) at @DailyLounge.

I have a great idea for a roundtable / Would like to participate as a panelist. Who do I contact?

The amazing Danielle Thillet is our Online Events Coordinator (among other titles). You can email her at Danielle[at]DailyLounge.com. Don't send her mean things!

I forgot my username and/or password for my Daily Lounge account. What do I do?

Ugh. Don't you hate that? Yeah, just email us at Editors[at]DailyLounge.com from the email that you used to register the account and we'll send you the username and/or a new password. We're currently working to automate this feature so you won't have to interact with another person...and thus yet another robot will have stolen the job of a hardworking flesh and blood human.

How do I create a custom avatar for my Daily Lounge account? Oh, and, uh, what exactly is an avatar?

An avatar is a tall blue-skinned alien that's controlled by a human in...wait, nope. That's a James Cameron movie.

An avatar in real life is the picture that appears next to your username every time you comment or start a discussion. You can create and designate one for your Daily Lounge account by going to Gravatar and using the same e-mail address that you used to create your account with us to create a Gravatar profile.

Where else can I find you guys?

You can find us on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.

I saw a segment mentioning you guys on TV. Where can I see that?

You check out all the TV segments put together by our parent company Circle F Media in our Video section, which you can find by clicking here.
